WEAR YOUR MEMORIES
Bi/Eiko is a collection of kimonos that have been left unused for a long time remade into beautiful pieces that can be worn today.
The works use fine and luxurious silk material, and has travelled through time.

コスチュームデザイナー
「想い出を纏うコスチューム」をコンセプトに、アンティークの着物の元の有様を活かしたコスチュームの製作を行う。
また、アンティークの着物コレクターとしても伝統文化を現代に生かし、次世代に繋げることに力を入れ、日本が誇る衣装文化でもある着物を通し伝統と創造の世界を創りあげている。
活動を始めたきっかけ
愛した祖母が他界をし、残された想い出の着物を形見として未来に残したいとの思いから着物コスチュームデザイナーとしての活動が始まりました。
このように着物と向き合った時、初めて日本文化とは何かと考え初め、2000年から着物のもつ魅了を新しい文化として紹介する公演を始めました。
これまで15ヶ国以上で 現地の日本国大使館のご協力のもと日本美を紹介するステージを行って来ました。
またこの公演は衣装、音楽、舞踊、アートが一体となった総合芸術でもあります。
これまでの活動は多くのメディアに取り上げられております。
Eiko Kobayashi is a costume designer and President of Be-Japon, a costume company that produces costumes that make the most of the original antique kimono with the concept of “Costumes that Wear Memories.
She is also a collector of antique kimonos.
She is creating a world of tradition and creativity through the kimono, which is the pride of Japanese costume culture.
Message from Eiko
After my beloved grandmother passed away, I wanted to leave behind a kimono as a memento of her memory for the future,
and this is how I started my activities as a kimono costume designer.
When I came face to face with the kimono, I began to think about what Japanese culture was for the first time, and in 2000 I started to give performances to introduce the fascination of the kimono as a new culture. With the cooperation of Japanese embassies in more than 15 countries, we have presented performances to introduce the beauty of Japan.
These performances are also a comprehensive art form that combines costume, music, dance, and art.
Our activities to date have been covered by many media outlets.
